Project Background
Located in a remote area of Canada, the ranch sits dozens of kilometres from the nearest power grid, which makes grid connection extremely expensive.
The harsh winter climate and freezing temperatures demand high stability and cold-resistant performance from the power supply. Daily operations — milking equipment, water pumps, lighting and winter heating — relied on highly polluting diesel generators, with high fuel costs and difficult maintenance.
Solution
We customised a cold-resistant off-grid solar energy storage system for the ranch, built from high-efficiency anti-freeze PV modules, wide-temperature-range LiFePO4 battery packs and a smart off-grid inverter.
Solar energy generated during the day is stored in the batteries; at night and on cloudy days the storage system keeps the ranch running without interruption.
Project Advantages
- 100% energy independence: Completely removes dependence on diesel generators, achieving zero emissions and silent operation.
- Extreme environment adaptability: Excellent low-temperature charge and discharge performance keeps the power supply stable down to -30 °C.
- Significant economic benefits: A one-time investment eliminates recurring diesel procurement and transport costs. Actual payback depends on project scale, local fuel prices and real energy consumption.
Application Scenarios
Remote farms, un-electrified mountain areas, high-cold regions and any off-grid power supply.
